This is a newly renovated residence in a quiet, idyllic location between Bolzano and Lake Garda!

The small village of Oberfennberg, situated at 1200 m above sea level, can be reached via a panoramic road (13 km) from Kurtatsch. Here, on a high plateau of the Fennberg, Oberfennberg shares the territory with another village, Unterfennberg, which, however, is already part of the municipality of Margreid.

The center of the village is formed by the small Maria-Hilf church (1690) and a few houses around it. Not far from it rises Ulmburg Castle, a summer resort castle in simple Renaissance style. In Fennhals a sensational find was made in the 1980s: Luis Hauser from Kurtatsch discovered a Bronze Age copper smelting site with several completely preserved furnaces dating back to about 1500 BC.

A hike in Fennhals will also take you to a row of giant sequoia trees planted over a century ago (1908) in honor of the 50th anniversary of the throne of Austrian Emperor Franz Josef.

The house can be reached by car from Kurtatsch via the municipal road in about 15 minutes. About 1 km before Oberfennberg, the road branches off onto a private forest road which ends after 200 m about directly in the courtyard of the forester’s house. In the summer months there is a public bus connection to Kurtatsch.
