DESCRIPTION

We are selling a unique villa with about 14,000 m² (1.4 hectares). The villa is located in Verona/Veneto (Romeo&Julia) and is strategically well located due to the proximity of the main roads.

PLEASE contact us directly, after checking interest and creditworthiness we will arrange a discreet viewing appointment!

Excursus: the unique name of the villa is derived from a 13th century abbess: “Mater Anna”. The present building dates back to 1400, while the frescoes inside and in the stately chapel date back to 1500 (school of Paolo Caliari, called “Veronese”). Noteworthy is the Imperial Hall, whose ceiling was painted with grotesque frescoes, a work by Bernardino India, an associate of Andrea Palladio.

The first documentary mention of the villa dates back to January 3, 1255, when the property passed from the Visconti family to the Benedictine monastery of San Michele. Important noble families, the Verità and the Nichesola, gave it its definitive structure around 1400 and in the first decades of the following century.

In 1500 the Counts Murari della Corte Brà commissioned the interior frescoes.
